Summary

The Chapel Royal of St Peter ad Vincula is the former parish church of the Tower of London. The chapel that stands today dates back to the reign of Henry VIII. The earlier building was incorporated into the Tower of London and later replaced during the reign of Edward I. The church was rebuilt again in 1520 after a fire. Although there have been multiple variations of the building, it has always been a part of the tower. Being the Chapel for the Tower, many who have been executed at the Tower have been buried here including Sir Thomas More, John Fisher and Thomas Cromwell, as well as Anne Boleyn, Katherine Howard, and Lady Jane Grey.

Whilst you are visiting the Tower of London, be sure to stop by the chapel.
