Radio 4’s Daily Service is held at Wren’s Churches

Tune into to Radio’s Four’s ‘Daily Service’ for a series of five programmes broadcast from Sir Christopher Wren’s churches marking the tercentenary of his death.

BBC Radio 4 – Daily Service, 13/02/2023 Wren 300: St Stephen Walbrook

The service comes from one of Wren’s major churches in London’s Square Mile, St Stephen Walbrook and is introduced by the Bishop of London, Dame Sarah Mullally. The service is led by the parish priest, Rev Stephen Baxter.

A service of Choral Matins from the Chapel of the Old Royal Naval College, Greenwich, marking the tercentenary of the death of Sir Christopher Wren.

 

BBC Radio 4 – Daily Service, 15/02/2023 – Wren 300: St Bride’s, Fleet Street

The service comes from St Bride’s Church, Fleet Street, and is led by the Rector, Rev Canon Dr Alison Joyce.

 

BBC Radio 4 – Daily Service, 16/02/2023 – Wren 300: St Dunstan in the East

An outdoor meditation from St Dunstan in the East church garden, a unique space set within the ruins of a Wren church in the City of London. The service is led by the Area Dean, the Rev Katherine Hedderly, with Bishop David Urquhart.

 

BBC Radio 4 – Daily Service, 17/02/2023 Wren 300: St Martin Ludgate, St Mary Aldermary and St Edmund Lombard Street

The Archdeacon of London, Ven Luke Miller, introduces the service from his own Wren church, St Martin’s Ludgate, just down the road from St Paul’s Cathedral. He then visits St Mary Aldermary, exploring their ministry of hospitality through the Host cafe and Moot Community. A few metres down the road, Wole Agbaje describes the work of IMPRINT church, a new worshipping community based at the Wren church of St Edmund, Lombard Street.
